Community Carpentry USA, Inc. (CCUSA), started out as a Carpentry Training Program, designed to teach Carpentry Skills to At-Risk Youth over a 6 Month Period. We were fortunate that a Major University offered a Grant Opportunity to Neighborhood Organizations in Birmingham, AL. that had ideas to help improve the Health of The Community. Yes, if more Young Adults learn this Carpentry Skills and become employed, this would help Reduce Crime and Violence, therefore improving the overall Health of the Community and the City.
